Establishing 'Making it Happen' as a 'Formal & Predictable' Discipline

Execution-MiH Capacity Index (ExCI)

Execution-MiH Capacity Index is a mandatory step, which sets the ground & reference points for any work on building execution capacity. In other words it is equivalant to a full-body health-check & diagnostics of ‘make-it-happen’ ability for a team/ an individual/ a program/ a process/ a business goal or any other domain within which you want to achieve Execution-Excellence.

Before one get working on to enhance the Execution-Capacity, the key question is on what is the current capacity? Which are high & low-points? What are the gaps and what are the root-causes?

Execution-MiH is a 'Measurable' discipline. ExCI is a holistic frame-work, through which one can measure the capacity (of an individual, team, process, program, location etc..) to execute, given the specific context & goal.

Using this assessment & diagnostic frame-work, an organization or an individual can quantitatively assess its ability to 'Make it Happen' on a scale of 1-10, along with a detailed diagnostics on the gaps, and also suggested improvement actions.

Dimensions of Execution Capacity
Execution-MiH has many imperatives, and organization is able to achieve excellence once it is able to work on all these dimensions. Therefore ExCI frame-work is organized around these dimensions, where one is able to assess the capacity in each dimension, and also an overall ExCI score. The dimensions are:
  • Maximize Health to Execute
    • Sharp Senses- Ground-Intelligence
    • 'Capabilities' for Sustainable Performance
    • Resilience & Flexibility
  • Maximize Results
    • Focus & Money-Machine
    • 'Value' management
    • Future Management
  • Maximize People
    • Human Capital
    • Leadership & Work-Discipline
    • Entraprenurial Execution
  • Managing-Execution
    • Execution Intensity
    • Execution Scorecard
    • Project-Process-IT

ExCI Assessment Matrix
ExCI is a highly 'context-sensitive' frame-work, where it presents a reference of assessment, based on the Industry-sector (for example, a BPO will have different execution imperatives vis-a-vis a transport & logistice organization), goals (higher goals demand higher ExCI) and change environment (a highly dynamic environment will demand a greater ExCI). In other words, two entities having same execution capacity, will have different ExCI, depending on their context & goal.

For ExCI assessment & Diagnostics, Execution-MiH goes through a discovery process, where we map the client's context. Based on these inputs, a customized assessment matrix is created.

Periodic ExCI assessments
This is an independent assessment done of the ExCI after a certain periodic interval or at critical check-point. This is typically done by a group which is not doing the program management to avoid the conflict of interest.
